This post is coming to you live from the Photo Plus Expo at the Javits Center in NYC!
Running Oct. 22nd -24th, this is one of the top events of the photography industry for premiering the newest digital-flick-focused products, technology and accessories. Best of all – in our humble opinion – is the opportunity to meet Western Digital’s Creative Masters at the show!
We did get a little distracted on our way to see the Creative Masters, since in order to make our way to the Western Digital booth we had to pass a few other booths. Nikon, Kodak, JVC and a few design-friendly, mid-sized, pro-gear-type companies teased us with all the new stuff coming to market this year.

Our goal was to make it to our WD booth by 11 a.m. for the start of the Western Digital Creative Masters presentation, but we were like kids in a candy store and ended up a few minutes late. By the time we arrived, there was already a crowd around the booth and Sports Illustrated photographer Peter Read Miller had just begun presenting his work. Armed with his WD Passport Hard Drive (of course), a WD TV Live media player remote control (you’ve checked out Live, right?!?) and a microphone, Peter captivated the audience with the stories behind some of his famous shoots for Sports Illustrated. As sports enthusiasts crowded closer to the big HD screen, Peter navigated the WD TV Live media player interface like a pro. Definitely check out the Creative Masters website, if you haven’t already, to see some of his amazing shots from the Summer Olympics in China. Amazing.

Peter Read Miller isn’t the only Creative Master to plug their WD Hard Drive into the WD TV Live Media Player. Bruce Dorn and Colin Finlay round out the threesome of photography experts collectively referred to as “WD Creative Masters.” Did we mention there is a website where you can learn all about them?
We have to say, it was quite special to experience one of these legends in person. It was also a proud moment to see how easily he used the WD TV Live HD Media Player as a tool to bring their photos to life! It certainly reminded us why we brought the WD TV family of products to market. We’d love to see how you use your WD TV player! Tweet a video link of your story to @wdtvlive or post your video link in our blog comments below!

We’ll try to get another post written for you on the flight back home… But, we can’t promise… After being in “The City That Never Sleeps”, we might just get some shut-eye!
– Your On-The-Road WD TV Team
PS: Great to meet you all at the @PhotoExpo Tweetup. Let’s keep in touch!
Still not sure which media player model is for you? Maximum PC picked WD TV Live. Calling WD TV Live a “worthy successor to the WD TV” with its new connected features and still keeping all the things you love most about the original – we couldn’t agree more.
