1.01.17 firmware update for WD TV Live media players WD released a firmware update for WD TV Live that addresses functioning issues with previous upgrades. The newest version, 1.01.17, effectively updates units by incorporating a more robust method of upgrading firmware over the internet. WD recommends all users running firmware versions 1.01.00, 1.01.11 or 1.01.12 upgrade to 1.01.17 via the online update server or USB update. * Improves the reliability of the WD TV Live firmware upgrade manager by incorporating a more robust method of upgrading firmware over the internet.
* Includes all previously released updates.

Release 1.01.11 (11/16/09)

* Added cover art display function when viewing music files in album
view.
* Added user selectable on/off for fade in and fade out effect while
browsing files.
* Resolved issue of no audio when there is only a single, center channel
audio stream in a video.

How to Install the Product Update:

Installing the new firmware on your WD TV Live is simple. Just connect your
WD TV Live to an Internet connection and the WD TV Live will automatically
check and notify you a new firmware is available for update at the Home
menu. Confirm the action and the WD TV will be automatically updated.

If Internet connection is not available, you can download the firmware file
and follow the steps below to update:

1. Extract the three files (.BIN, .VER, and .FFF files) to the root (top
level) of a portable USB drive.
2. Connect the USB drive to the WD TV Live Media Player’s USB port.
3. Press HOME, and then select the Settings bar.
4. Select the firmware upgrade icon, and then press ENTER.
5. You are prompted to perform the firmware upgrade.
6. Select OK on the firmware update prompt, and then press ENTER. This
will restart the system.
7. After restarting, the system automatically enters firmware upgrade
mode.
8. Once the update process is completed, the WD TV Live HD Media Player
will restart again.
9. Once the HD WD TV Live Media Player restarts, the new firmware is
automatically loaded and the WD TV Live HD Media Player is ready for use.
